Project Purpose: OpenSimulator is an open source multi-platform, multi-user 3D application server. It can be used to create a virtual environment (or world) which can be accessed through a variety of clients, on multiple protocols.
  • The following goals are pursued with this project:
  • Provide a complete OpenSim installation on Linux platform and Cloud Computing service
  • Provide two voice systems: Asterisk and TeamSpeak; Release  an Amazon EC2 image with the OpenSim installation
  • Provide a hosted administration system that allows configuring the user access to virtual locations, mapping of the avatar name to the real name and a simple web service to deliver information over HTTP
